Your First Appointment

Southfields Dental Centre, also known as "The Blue House", is a private family dental practice based in Southfields, London SW19. We welcome new patients of all ages for general, cosmetic, preventative, restorative and children's dentistry, with treatments ranging from general dental check-ups for all the family to complex full-mouth restorations with dental implants.

Above all, we want our patients to feel welcome, relaxed and in safe, professional hands. A warm welcome will be extended to you as soon as you enter the practice, where you will be greeted by a member of our friendly reception team.

We send all of our patients a welcome pack when they book their first appointment, which includes a medical history form. You can also print and bring the medical history form with you to your initial consultation. We do have copies of the form available from reception too, so if you haven't had time to complete it at home please arrive a few minutes early and complete it here. The form helps us get to know a bit more about you, what your needs and wants are, and makes sure we are aware of any medical conditions or medications that may affect your treatment.

We do our best to run on time, so please arrive in good time for your appointment. You can relax for a short time in our waiting area, then you'll be introduced to your dentist. He or she will carry out a thorough examination of your teeth, gums and surrounding structures, including checking any existing restorations and carrying out an oral cancer check as standard. We will take x-rays and photographs as necessary to help with diagnosis.

If we find you need treatment, all your options will be clearly explained to you – please do ask any questions, we want you to be fully involved in the decision-making process, and want to break down the barriers between patient and dentist. Once we've discussed various treatment options, based on your needs we will create your personal 'Blue house treatment plan' which will include estimated costs and timescales. In most cases any specialist treatment will be carried out by the appropriate member of our team here at the practice.

Whether you come to us for a general dental check-up or a specific treatment such as Invisalign invisible braces or dental implants we will make sure you are comfortable, happy and equipped with everything you need to make informed choices about your treatment at all times.

Mechanical Ventilation

Safety is our number one priority and remains during COVID times. We are very proud to announce we have installed a new mechanical ventilation system in the practice. This allows filtered air in each surgery which is constantly exchanged every few minutes keeping us all safe.
