Spending lots of time in the sun: We all need to spend some time in the sun to maintain healthy levels of vitamin D. Natural skin pigment provides some protection, with fairer-skinned people often showing more signs of ageing than darker-skinned people.
Smoking: Smokers develop "smokers' lines" around their lips thanks to the repeat action of drawing on a cigarette. Smoking also reduces the levels of oxygen in the skin, which can add to the ageing process.
Not drinking enough water: You should drink at least two litres of water a day. This helps to keep your skin hydrated. Alcoholic drinks and coffee are dehydrating, which affects the skin.
Unhealthy diet: A healthy, balanced diet including lots of fruit and vegetables helps the skin to maintain a youthful appearance. The skin is constantly regenerating, and a good diet helps in this process.
Treatment with Restylane restores levels of hyaluronic acid, giving the skin a fuller, more youthful appearance. It can be used on the lower face, chin and lips.
